Metadata for each channel

• Logical name (e.g HMP45H)
• Channel number (relative to the module the to which the channel is associated)
• State (active/inactive)
• Measurement report period (how often, in seconds, a measurement is sent out)
• Samples per reported measurement (e.g. how many samples taken and averaged for generating each measurement)
• Time the last sample was taken 
• Data operation (e.g. raw, average, median, minimum, maximum, etc) 
• Sensor make (e.g. Vaisala) 
• Sensor model (e.g. HMP45A)
• Sensor serial number (e.g. 1234567890) 
• Sensor measurement (e.g. Temperature) 
• Measurement unit (e.g. degrees Celsius) 
• DAQ method (usually related to analog input configuration) 
• Calibration type (e.g. linear, polynomial, boolean, etc)
• Calibration information (e.g. polynomial coefficients) 
• Valid data range (basic QA/QC used to validate sensor output) 
• Location (latitude, longitude, and location note)
